Monitor Group’s Bansi Nagji and I recently penned a piece for Rotman Magazine about orthodoxies, the tightly held beliefs that both direct how an organization runs—and often get in its way. It’s a super crazy long article, but hopefully worth the read. And we offer five ways for executives to think about how to flip orthodoxies:
- Be ruthless about finding them
- Ask ‘why not?’ on a regular basis
- Widen your field of vision
- Be a credible heretic
- Recognize those who dare
I’d love to know if any of this resonates.
